Horde Leveling 1-60 Horde Leveling 1-60
Horde leveling 1-60
This will be the horde section of my leveling guides, and like the Alliance one, it assumes that
you are on a PvP server. If you are not on a PvP server, feel free to use both
guides to your advantage, though I still would suggest these places because
they are more advantageous to that race just because of the cities etc. The
horde has four races: Undead, Troll, Tauren, and Orc. Three of them start on
the Horde or western continent, and the other, Undead, starts in the Eastern
Kingdoms, nears the north. Both of these places have leveling for all classes,
though I will recommend traveling to quite a few places. Like the other guide,
I recommend going through all instances one can at their particular level, as
they provide nice loot to help in solo leveling.
Level
1-10 Like alliance, level 1-10 is a solo experience for all of the classes,
with basically a quest-based leveling that turns out to be very fast. All that
is really necessary is to stay in the newbie section of the zone and branch out
when quests are complete. I will be going race by race through the guide,
though after level 30 I will go by zone, because by that time it will be easy
to travel throughout the world, and all races can go through all zones.
Undead
Undead start in Tirisfall Glades, which has good leveling till at
least 10, and can be pushed to 11. You can get quests right in the Cathedral
where you start, and upon reaching level 6, one can travel just a little to the
east to Brill for more quests. They are all in the vicinity, though a few will
ask you to go to Silverpine Forest (this is for level
10-12, so keep them). There is no threats really, just stay away from the far
northeast of the zone, as there are level 40 elite mobs there.
Tauren
The Taurens' home is Mulgore, where players will start in the
southern part of the zone. The town there has a few quest chains to get you
started, but once you find you are out, head a little to the north to Bloodhoof Village, which houses more
quests. Upon level 8-9, one should make a trip to Thunder Bluff for more quests
as well as trainers and equipment.
Trolls Sen'Jin
Village is the home of the Trolls, located in Durotar. It is in the very
south of the zone, and should be a good place to go through level 10. Once you
get higher up, you can head to Razor Hill, which has more quests, and then
further up to Orgrimmar. Orcs Orcs also start in Durotar, but in
Razor Hill. You can complete the same quests as the Trolls, and then head to
Sen'Jin for more.
All Classes It shouldn't take more
than a few hours to reach level 10, most of the quests are easy and require
killing monsters which give exp. You can get items that you need for killing
harder monsters. Once you reach level 10 or 11, the options are pretty tight,
but still make easy leveling.
Level 10-20
These levels take a more
straightforeward approach, especially when one is playing horde. The classes
are a lot more centralized, giving more opportunities for leveling together
with other horde members and being a little safer if on a PvP server. I reccomend
that all races take a trip to Ogrimmar, and go through the instance Ragefire
Chasm. It has good loot and is quick exp, especially with some quests that you
can get right outside of it, as well as in the Barrens.
Troll,
Orc and Tauren Level 10-16/18 for these three classes is in one zone, which
is gigantic. The Barrens is home to two outposts, many many quests, and three
Instances. Technically there is a way to level from 10-22+ here, but it is
probably easier to split it up from 10-18/20 and then come back at higher
levels for two of the instances. You will want to run from Orgrimmar or Mulgore
to the Barrens which is only one zone away from each of the newbie zones. You
will want to make your way to the middle of the zone, where you will find The
Crossroads. This place is full of quests that require you to travel around the
zone and kill many different places. You will also want to take a trip to
Rachet when you are around level 13 or 14, as there a quests for The Wailing
Caverns, a great instance for level 15-18. Furthermore, once you get to
level 16-18, you can go south to Camp Taurajo, which is right near
the Mulgore zone. There are higher level quests there if you want to keep
leveling in the Barrens. If you want somewhere new to go, around level 18 or
19, you can head to Stonetalon Mountains, which is a good place
to level for the upcoming grind.
Undead Personally,
I would reccomend that Undead players take the same path as the other three
classes, and take the Zepplin outside the Undercity to Durotar and go to
Orgrimmar. Even so, Silverpine Forest serves as a good place
to go for level 12-13, as there are some quick and easy slaughter quests. I
would also reccomend that undead head to Ragefire Chasm and run the instance
inside Orgrimmar. Level 20-30 Leveling starts to slow down a bit, but there are
plenty of zones and choices at this point. I would assume that by now all
people are in the Barrens/Stonetalon Mountains, and start by heading to Sunrock
Retreat in the middle of Stonetalon Mountains. You can quest there
which will lead you to the goblins and humans of the digging company to the
east, the Nightelf and Centaurs to the north, and to the Harpys to the west.
This should be sufficient leveling to 25 or so, but there is a second option.
You can travel north of the Barrens to Ashenvale. There is a town to the
north-northeast part of the zone, a good housing to quests. You can come here
before Stonetalon, but I would suggest being at least level 25, as even though
there will be a few green quests, the majority of them will be your level.
Furthermore, there is a level 28-31 instance in Ashenvale, Blackfathom
Depths. There is some nice loot, and a run or two wouldn't be a bad idea.
If this doesn't suit you, there is a second instance you can run at the very
south part of the barrens, Razorfen Downs. You can check loot tables for
the instances here, which is a great place to find out where you want to
run to get better equipment.
Level
30-40 You may be a little above level 30, but it should be time to move on
to new zones with new quests and instances. I am going to list zones and some
good places to go (mostly where the quests are) instead of going by race, as
everything is easily acessable with a little bit of travel. First of all, since
we are already out west, it would probably be best to travel to , which is
south of Stonetalon Mountains. There are many
opportunities there for questing, which can boost you up from 30-35 pretty
quickly. You can head down to the southwest shoreline to find Shadowprey Village, but if you come here
at 30, you will probably want to find the encampment in the Kodo Graveyard, on
the eastern side. There you can do quests that relate to all of the centaur
tribes, and get a great deal of grinding experience. Once you get up to 33 or
so, I would reccomend Shadowprey's quests. There arn't any large chains, but
you can get a level or two from all of them. Another option, which is also
highly reccomended is . On PvP servers this zone can be a huge zone for ganking
and PvP, but it also holds a great deal of quests to get players through 5-10
levels easily. If you come at 30, there may be one or two green quests, but
they are all quest chains and will lead to elite quests for good exp and
rewards. I reccomend going here first and doing the quest as much as possible,
then heading to other zones such as Arathi Highlands and Stranglethron Vale. As
mentioned above is a great place to level after Hillsbrad. You will recieve one
quest for this zone in Hillsbrad, and then you will be asked to turn in the
quest to somebody from Hammerfall, located in the northeast section of the
zone. Here there will be many quest chains, a lot of slaughter quests for fast
exp, and not that many opposing alliance. In the middle of the zone there is an
alliance city, so stay away from that part as the guards are level 42. If you
have gone in the order said above, you should be well on your way to 36 or 37
if you only did quests and then left the above zones. I would head to . The
easiest way to get there is to take the Zepplin from either Tirisfal or
Durotar, and you will end up right in the beginning town, Grom'Gol Base Camp.
There are plenty of quests that involve killing in the north and around the
base camp, a pretty safe area in general. As you get a little higher in levels,
you will have to advance further south, and eventually you can run all the way
south to Booty Bay, which is a Goblin Town. There are a lot of
options questwise there, and this should eaisly get you to 40. Even though
there are a multitude of zones, there are a few other reccomendations.
Instances
There are a few instances you can travel to between 30 and 40, all of which
hold some nice loot for all classes. I would definatly, as said in the Alliance
Guide, suggest that all levelers go to , there are great loot and exp
opporunities. Even so, I've found that DesolaceHillsbrad FoothillsArathi
Highlands Straglethorn ValeScarlet Monestary Razorfen Downs in
The Barrens, as well as Uldaman in the Badlands are host to great loot
and quests as well. Although you have to travel around to find the quests,
consult the links to find out who to talk to for the quests. If you get sick of
the solo thing, definatly check out these instances. Level 40-50 Level 40-50
slims down a bit from 30-40 in places to go, but there are still many quests to
go. I would suggest finish up Stranglethorn Vale if you havn't already done so,
and then taking a trip back to the Western side of the world. Feralas is
a good place to level at 40, with mobs starting at 38 and rising all the way to
48 or 50. You can stay there for quite some time, with access coming from
Thousand Needles. You can find the encampment in the middle of the zone, just
keep following the path.
. If you head to the
central-north part of the zone, there is a town with quest givers. If you
happen to be 55+, you could head further west to , but you may need to go to a
few other zones until you hit 55 or higher. I reccomend Silithis for level 55+,
as a lot of the new quests give 6k+ exp and really good exp, they are level
59-60, and not really strong. Furthermore, you can travel north in the western
continents to the three adjacent zones , The other place I suggest is also next
to Thousand Needles, but is to the south, not west. If you follow the Shimmering
Flats in Thousand Needles you will come to . Right when you arrive there you
will be next to Gadgetzan, the main base for the zone. It is another goblin
city, your main place for quests etc. You will want to complete those quests,
and upon hitting 44 or 45, start forming Zul'Farruk groups. It is an instance
in the northwest of the zone, and like usual, houses great exp and loot, along
with some quests. These two zones alone should take you to level 48 or 49,
though if you want another zone, there is a good alternative, although more Alliance based. Traveling back
to Hillsbrad Foothills, if you go to the northeast, you can find . This zone
has a lot of alliance, and the town is a little hard to get too, so I would
suggest not going until level 48 or 49. There are tons of quests for
horde at the town, which is located in the very southeast of the zone, below
the cliffs. There is a ramp to get down, as jumping will result in death. You
may want to find a partner, just in case there are alliance around, because
this seems to be one of their prime leveling spots for the high 40's.
Level
50-60 These levels are more grinding instances and soloing, but there are
quite a few zones you can visit. If you are already in Tanaris, head to the
southwest and take the ramp down to , and . All host 50-55+ quests and plenty
of them. With these five zones there should be no problem to leveling.
Furthermore, instancing at 55-60 is amazing, and can even be done at 52. From
52-55, I reccomend . When you get 55+, you can do either
TanarisThe
HinterlandsUn'Goro Crater
SilithisAzsharaFelwoodWinterspringAtal'HakkarScholomance Stratholme Dire Maul or
my personal favorite Blackrock Depths. The last 10 levels have a lot of
possibilities even though they can be slow at times, just keep going and try to
get groups in Orgrimmar for the instances, or you can solo in any of those
zones, or even the Plaguelands.
Horde leveling 1-60
This will be the horde section of my leveling guides, and like the Alliance one, it assumes that
