Inspired by Cowboy's cash strats, i bring to you one of my own.

This strat requires the ability to disenchant items and some cash to buy a few things on the AH initially.

Fiery Weapon (http://www.thottbot.com/?sp=13898) is a very popular enchant at the moment for twink characters (and in general?). It causes a weapon to frequently hit for an additional 40 fire damage. The mats are 1x essence of fire and 4c small radiant shard (see above thottbot link for links to those). For my own twink i grinded on fire elementals at Un'Goro crater right in the middle of the map. The drop rate is pretty low and i got 3 in perhaps 2 hours. They go for about 15g on Darkspear. If you are planning on grinding anyway this isn't a bad way to go about it. Thottbot says the drop rate is 2.5% on essence of fire from those mobs, so every 40 you kill you should get one. It seems to be farmed a fair bit lately, but the respawns aren't slow so you shouldn't have too much problem finding something to kill. There are plenty of other mobs around to switch to in any case. Just watch out for gankers.

The main strat here is in fact for small radiant shards, and is doable at any level. Small radiant shards can be obtained with some frequency by disenchanting armour items from level 40 to 50 (or thereabouts). On Darkspear these sell on the AH for 4g each, and i seem to have about a 20-25% chance of getting one when i DE a level 40 armour item. There often are armour items within this level range on the auction house for about a 50s buyout. Supposing the DE rate of getting a small radiant shard is 20%, 2g50s of disenchanted armour will get me a shard i can sell for 4g, plus whatever other stuff i got from the times i did not get a shard. Hardly earth shattering profit, but it requires minimal effort above what i would do when i normally check the AH for bargains.
