I also did this on accident i was taking the elevator down from the horde town in thoughsand needles (forgot its name) and i noticed my pet was still on the bridge while i was going down. Then i use eyes of the beast and my pet is flying in stonetalon mountains! It takes a few times to work,Remember your pet still has to be on the bridge while you are going down.
Simplfied instructions..
1.) Go to the greater lift.. 2.) ride down... hopefully your pet will stay at the top. 3.) cast eye's of the beast 4.) voila flying p
