Okie, this isn't exactly an exploit, but more like a handy guide/use of game mechanics.. resulting in a chicken!
Firrstly let me explain the quest:
-Find a chicken at Saldean's farm (Alliance- Westfall), target the chicken, and do /chicken, sometimes it takes a few (like a hundred attempts) This doesn't work on a horde char, so you'll be rolling a level 1 alt..
-Eventually the chicken will look up at you, (all the alliance noobs will be looking at you kinda funny too..) and will become an NPC, with the quest marker (!)
-Speak to it, accept the quest...
-Buy some chicken feed from Saldean - 25 copper.
-Find your chicken (any chicken will do now), select it and type /cheer
-Speak to the chicken, finish the quest, etc (it takes the feed)
-Chicken will lay an egg on the ground, it will appear like a quest item.
Inside this is your chicken egg.. right click to summon/dismiss etc. (BoP) ___ First method for horde:
This can be done easily enough after level 20 or so. Head to Ratchet, Booty Bay, now just swim in a straight line northwest to the tip of westfall. Yep, will take a while. Get onto the beach by the murlocs and head northeast to Saldean's farmstead.. check thottbot if you have to. Head inside his farmhouse and relog.
Roll an alliance character. I chose a priest, heals could be handy. Farmed |~60 copper in all of 10 minutes, and headed down to westfall. This could be tricky, but no biggy once you've found the farm.
Now grab a bag of chicken feed to save time, and find a chicken. Fill out a macro with
/chicken /chicken /chicken /chicken /chicken ... etc
Spam it. Really spam the hell out of it. Do the chicken's little quest, feed it and it will lay an egg. A very big one.
Time to relog. Since this is essentially a chest, your horde char can easily loot it.
However, since the area is teeming with little bastards, you'll want to wait till it's quiet-ish, or find a chicken that's quite safe & hidden at the same time. Took me a good 4 attempts before people stopped looting my damn egg.
___ 2nd method. Some have suggested doing the quest on your horde char.
Since chicken feed can *only* be bought from saldean, you could take your baby alli' char down through STV to the booty bay auction house (neutral) and have a friend buy it.. (cant buy your own auctions)
Or.. kill saldean.. there's a low chance he'll drop the feed. You'll flag also.
The trouble with this is that A: never been able to have the chicken turn npc on horde, B: if it did turn NPC it would become alliance anyway..
Et voila, alli chicken on a horde char =)
If you're on a real server (PvP) you can't do this.
Technically any chicken will do. So you could just find a safeish spot. Unless there's something I'm missing here...
