TBC PvE Armor Sets Explained

 

OK, so I see lots of questions floating around about the various Tier Sets that will be available in the X-pac. So I figured I'd make a post to explain how they will work as I know it to at the moment. If anyone has additional info or corrections, post it here and I will edit this post accordingly. I'll start off by saying - I'm not in Beta - but I like to do research.

I also want to add that everything you see is subject to change - as TBC has not yet been released.

First off, there are 3 End-Game PvE Armor sets, 1 End-Game PvP Armor set, and 1 End-Game Arena Armor set planned.

I'm just going to go ahead and number these as I see fit (i.e. Tier XX), if a more official numbering convention comes out, I'll edit my post.


PVE SETS

All current PvE Sets planned for TBC are 5-piece sets!!!
Head
Shoulder
Chest
Hands
Legs

All current PvE Sets planned for TBC have 2-piece and 4-piece set bonuses, that is all.


Dungeon Set 3 (a.k.a. Tier 3.5)
This set is a BLUE set with an item level of 115. The pieces of this set drop off of DUNGEON bosses in the upper level instances (e.g. Tempest Keep, Coilfang Res, etc). This set is most similar to the Tier 0 set in game now, with a few small differences.

There are 13 (you heard me) Tier 3.5 sets. None of these sets are class specific, however 9 of the sets have set bonuses related to a certain class, so each class has 'their' set, which would normally go to them. Additionally, there is a completely non-class specific set for each armor type (plate, mail, leather, and cloth) to make the additional 4 sets - each of these 4 sets have similar set bonuses (hit rating and attack power/spell damage).

There aren't 'different' sets based on spec for the Dungeon sets, though I assume it's because they are also 'not class specific.'

(I'm going to make links to all the sets that I can, but if I'm not supposed to - you Blue peeps can edit them out for me, or just make a post requesting I do so, and I will.)

Raid Set 4 (a.k.a. Tier 4)
This set is a PURPLE set with an item level of 105. The quest item turn ins to obtain pieces of this set drop off of RAID bosses in the upper level instances (e.g. Karazhan, Gruul’s Lair, etc). So far, these raid encounters are ONYXIA style raid encounters and small group raid encounters (i.e. 10-man Karazhan). This set is most similar to the Tier 2.5 set in game now, with a few small differences.

There are '9' Tier 4 sets, all of which are class specific because they are obtained via item turn in. I put the number of sets in quotes because there are different sets based literally on spec for certain classes. A very small number of set bonuses relate to abilities gained through talent points, so again, these sets are essentially spec specific. The quests are currently repeatable, so you can collect each set for your class - or you can collect multiple sets for different purposes (such as resists).

Currently, the sets are obtained through item turn ins as follows:
Items of the Fallen Champion - Used to purchase Paladin, Rogue, and Shaman pieces
Items of the Fallen Defender - Used to purchase Druid, Priest, and Warrior pieces
Items of the Fallen Hero - Used to purchase Hunter, Mage, and Warlock pieces

I currently don’t know if any of the set bonuses on Tier 5 effect abilities gained via talents, but I would imagine they do. The quests are currently repeatable, so you can collect each set for your class - or you can collect multiple sets for different purposes (such as resists).

World of Warcraft Guide sites are out there. You just have to look and you'll find the best WoW tips, tricks, strategies and even cheats to level faster, and to gain tons of WoW Gold easier. Whether you're at level 1 or level 70, you can always learn more about World of Warcraft. Do you want to make 200/300 wow gold an hour? Are you ready to stop the grind and finally learn the secrets the Gold farmers don't want you to know? If there was a way to make hundreds of gold an hour, even thousands wouldn't you take that knowledge and run? When I started playing World of Warcraft I was lost. I then started to read Luke Brown's gold guide and it opened my eyes! Forget Joana's Horde Leveling Guide, or Brian Kopp's Alliance guide. If you want to stop screwing around and want to start making serious money in World of Warcraft, Luke is the Man! Also another book caught my eye. The Ultimate World of Warcraft Guide. I've talked to this guy personally, Dave is his name, and he's an awesome guy who knows what he's talking about. If you need a WoW Guide for Horde and Alliance I highly recommend The Ultimate WoW Guide. The ultimate wow guide also includes a gold guide, which is pretty good but not like Luke Brown's WoW Gold guide. To learn more about Luke's gold guide, go to Gold Secrets dot com. If you just want more free wow guides, there are a ton of WoW guide sites out there. Simple do a Google search for Warcraft Guides or World of Warcraft Guides and I'm sure you'll find tons of guides easy. A site I like is MMOACE dot com. It has a bunch of guides for many different MMORPGs, and it's updated daily! Compare top rated World of Warcraft Guides at WarcraftGuides dot org. That's where I found Luke Brown's Gold Guide and the Ultimate World of Warcraft Guide. If you're serious about WoW and you want to stop wasting time in game, get these pro guides. Anyone still shopping at ING dot com? Buying wow gold for money, what a waste I think. And trust I know. You're lucky if you even get your gold. I personally know some wow gold companies that take 48 hours or more just to deliver a couple hundred wow gold. Do you know why? Because their World of Warcraft accounts got banned by Blizzard. And they're trying to make more wow gold while you wait. I know some companies that make wow gold to order now because of all the Blizzard banning. Even after you get your Wow Gold watch out because Blizzard can take that money from your account, ban your account and ban the sellers account within a few minutes. Same thing happens in other MMORPGs. It's sad and the end of Gold farmers. Don't be a victim, learn how to make all the wow gold in the world and get away from the gold farmers for good!
