At long last, 1.4.2 is out for general release. This version works with client
patch 2.1 and (hopefully) newer versions.
Big caveat #1: background mode
is disabled in 1.4.2. There are a few problems that we need to work through for
it to work with any stability. Normally, we'd be inclined to just let it fly and
if it crashes for some people, it's not the end of the world. However, when the
Shadow driver gets angry and crashes, the resulting blue screen is much more
serious than just an app going south. It really is the end of the world and
there's no way we can risk people losing data from Glider imploding like
that.
The good news is we can reproduce various failures here, so 1.4.3
should be around the corner pretty fast with background back in it.
Big
caveat #2: Glider does not run well on Windows 2000 now. We need to set up a
spare dev box and install it, since I can't just guess at call numbers from the
system DLL's with the extended functionality in the Shadow driver. If you're
running 2000, either upgrade or wait - it's on the list and support will be put
back in, but it may be a week or two.
Lastly, a bunch of the bad bugs in
the 1.4.1 beta are fixed, such as combo point reading, crazy combat toggling,
cat form buff stupidity, Vista attach burps, etc.
